Our volunteers are crucial to the success of our programs and help provide a positive learning environment for our kids. These policies and procedures help us ensure our volunteers know what our families expect of our coaches. Thanks for all that you do!
VOLUNTEER PROCEDURES
BEFORE / DURING / AFTER CLASS PROCEDURES:
- Arrive 15 minutes before class starts and assist coaches as needed.
- Greet participants when they arrive for class
- Follow the lead coach's decisions during class and please do not make changes to lesson plans
- Help coaches clean-up stations and put all equipment back in appropriate spot.
CELL PHONES:
- Cell phone usage is allowed for class purpose (call the golf shop, call another coach, call parent, etc).
- No personal phone calls or texts during class (unless for an emergency).
PARTICIPANT DISCIPLINE POLICY:
- 1st time- verbal warning.
- 2nd time- 5 minutes of "time-out". Explain the rule that was not followed and the next consequence should another problem occur.
- 3rd time- time out for the remainder of the class, TFT coach to contact parent/guardian.
- 4th time- TFT coach to contact parent/guardian. Possible suspension from program.
*Any verbal warnings should be done where you can be seen. In no way should you ever touch the participant.
DRESS CODE:
- Collard shirt (tucked in) - no tee shirts or cut-offs.
- Slacks, jeans or shorts. No gym shorts.
- Tennis shoes or golf shoes. No flip-flops.
SCHEDULING:
- Each session schedule will be made the third week of the previous month/ Schedule could change after that based on class size.
- Brian will email all volunteers with the class schedule and how many volunteers are needed based on class size.
LANGUAGE:
- Inappropriate language will not be tolerated. Parents and participants are listening at all times.
VOLUNTEER FEEDBACK:
- Volunteers will be asked and encouraged to provide regular feedback on lesson plans and activities. That can be done through email or with the program director.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:
- All volunteers who will be working with children are required to fill out a background check form that TFTNWA will provide.
